Vintage Record Hop Bop GirlAs a change from commenting on clubs I’ve visited, I shall shortly be making one of my own rare forays behind the decks to assault the ears of the good folk of Tewkesbury with some sounds from my own collection.  I’ve got to confess up front that this won’t all be delivered on slices of fine original 45 rpm vinyl, nor even – I shudder to admit – on albums or CDs, but I aim to cover a wide enough field of 50s and 60s music that needs me to resort to a laptop loaded with more tracks of different genres than I could possibly transport down in the trusty Morris Minor – but with a box of 45s to spin to make me feel better!

Anyway, the venue is the Watson Hall in Tewkesbury, the date is 11 19870825 Clive DJ'ingApril, and we’ll be kicking off at 7.30 pm.  It follows the Vintage Fair that takes place in the Hall during the day, so there’s a chance to try out the purchases you’ve made during the day (unless, of course, you’ve bought some furniture or curtains).  The hall’s a 1950s gem, the dance floor’s a big wooden sprung one, the beer’s good, and it’s all for local charities – what more could you ask…
